Positive Risk Taking changes lives

Last week we had the pleasure of presenting to CQC, how Positive Risk Taking has changed our clients lives 🀩

Rebecca and Paula, Directors for people with a learning disability and autistic people, visited our head office to meet with our Management Team. We shared case studies of every-day risk taking as well as the more radical stuff, such as flying aeroplanes, trips abroad and attending some of the UK's biggest festivals πŸ™Œ

Here's Craig proudly presenting his 56-year-old Land Rover that he restored, as part of his rehab after he sustained an acquired brain injury in 2022. We worked with Craig to increase mobility in his right hand, which was weakened to the point he was initially unable to use it, following his accident. Craig's first project was a tortoise house, this then built up to a garden fence and more recently his Land Rover. The progress made by Craig is incredible and with the support of his team, he now lives independently without support πŸ‘

We also had the pleasure of introducing to Rebecca and Paula, Jamie and his long term support worker Laura. Since supporting Jamie, the confidence he has gained and the relationships he has built are remarkable. With our approach, Jamie is now more settled and able to access more activities and trips across the UK. His favourite time of year is holidaying to Devon, something that a few years ago wouldn't have been an option. πŸ–οΈ

Some of the feedback we received..

"We really appreciated the insights you have given us into the approach and service you provide to enhance people lives. The positive risk approach has been central to your successes along with the culture you have created with your team. It was also great to meet and talk to two of your clients and hear about others you have been successfully working with to enable them get their own lives back and achieve so much more…." 🀩

This is something that is embedded into our practice, culture and ethos, and we are excited to hopefully be working closely with them in the future to ensure positive risk taking is an approach used far and wide 🌏
