Swallowing Awareness Day

As part of Nutrition and Hydration Week, we celebrated National Swallowing Awareness Day to raise awareness of dysphagia.

Many of our clients now suffer with dysphagia after sustaining their brain injuries, which can impact their nutrition, hydration, emotional wellbeing and overall quality of life. We work with some fantastic Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT) who play a key role in managing dysphagia symptoms and improving the quality of our clients’ lives. The work they do should not only be celebrated today, but every day.

Here are some photos of Sophie enjoying mocktails at her physio session this week. They made different mocktails with different levels of thickener to aid her swallowing.
