A Public Commitment to Employee Wellbeing
At Steps Ahead Care & Support, our people matter. That’s why we’ve signed the Mindful Employer Charter, making a public promise to champion the mental health of our staff. Our approach combines training, peer support, and mental wellbeing resources—reflecting our belief that caring for our employees is crucial to better care for those we support.
What That Means for Our Team
We signed up to the Mindful Employer Plus programme, giving every colleague access to confidential support services. Anyone, at any time of day or night, can use these resources when they need someone to talk to.
In addition, when one of our teams encountered an extremely distressing event, we introduced on‑site TRiM support. TRiM (Trauma‑focused Peer Support) is a discreet, non‑clinical process—originally used in the Armed Forces—that helps people recover from trauma. Led by our own TRiM Practitioner, Matt, it allows our team to receive structured, compassionate care and to navigate risk more confidently.
